New Look Hub! Issue 74
A New-Look Hub for 2009!
Yes, we now have a new look, thanks to our Design & Layout bod, Phil Lunt, so now Hub looks as good as it reads!
Fiction:
The Astronomer of Baghdad by Matt Keefe
Feature:
“Van Gogh & The Burning Eye” by horror guru, Simon Clark
and oodles of reviews!
Enjoy…

That Gordon Harries sure goes on a bit.
Enjoyed the story, although the passing reference to a telescope tripped me up. Even allowing for advances in Arabian astronomy, I found it difficult to believe such a device existed in the year 312.
Enjoyed the reviews too, although there were a few too many typos for comfort.
Not too sure about the use of a sans serif font. I find they look smart but are generally harder on the eye when it comes to reading non-trivial amounts of text.
But overall, the new Hub is looking good.
Hi Vaughan,
Thanks for the comments regarding the new layout. Just to back up why I used a sans serif font; from a professional point of view they are actually regarded as a far easier font to read, especially for people with visual impairments and/or dyslexia. I tend to use them for most projects unless a client has specified otherwise.
I agree with Vaughns comments on the font. I’m not sure if it’s the font or the colour? It looks blurred like a low res image which it’s not and I just couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
Other than that the new hub looks great, keep up the good work.
